The Duke City Shooutout ran for nine years (2000-2009), took a year off, and then finished its 10th year before closing up shop. The festival gave six filmmakers a chance to shoot and edit a film over one week. In 2007, The Pitch won awards for best actor (Reuben Finkelstein) and editor (Ryan Denmark).
